Hart House Music :: student composer concert

The 4th Annual Hart House Student Composer's Concert will occur on Sunday, March 22nd, 2009. This concert is designed to showcase the culture of UT and it coincides with Art and Culture Week and Hart House. The University of Toronto has many talented composers both within the Faculty of Music and also in the many other faculties within the university. This concert is designed to showcase the works of some of these talented composers. As a new endeavor, we are also planning to showcase some of UTs talented artists during the concert. This year's concert will occur on Sunday March 22, 2009 in the evening; we hope to see you there!

The Hart House Music Committee is currently accepting submissions for our annual Student Composer Concert from ALL UT students, no matter their discipline. The Student Composer Concert had a great turnout in past years, and is expected to be even bigger this year! We are looking for music and any form of visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, etc). For music, the following styles are accepted: classical, contemporary, jazz and Latin. All submissions must be received by February 8, 2009 at 11:55pm . All submissions must include a score, preferably in electronic form, ex. Sibelius/Finale. An audio version of the composition is optional but may be included with your score. Our selection committee will review the works and contact the composers shortly after the deadline. The final concert will take place in the evening of Sunday, March 22, 2009 in Hart House's Great Hall.
